on the site: The Battle for Naboo (11/26/00) So what is this anyway?Well, it all started when I went to Wal-mart, looking for Star Wars action figures. There was this 12 inch "Hidden Majesty" doll, sitting there, looking remarkably interesting. Now I don't collect dolls. Really I don't. Well, at least I didn't used to. But there was something about this one that I really liked. So, I broke down and bought it. I took it out of the box, put the Padme mask on and off, took off the cape, and generally enjoyed having it. Then I thought "wouldn't it be nice to get the extra costumes that Queen Amidala wears in the movie?" So I looked around to see if these were available. Right. Sure. Its been a while since I played with fashion dolls. Back in my day, the idea was to change the doll's outfit. Seems that is no longer the case, instead we are supposed to buy multiple dolls, each with their own outfit. And, of course, pay upwards of $60 for each one. Collector's items, not toys anymore. Well, its not that I can't afford it, its the principle of the thing. Besides, I was looking for a new hobby. So, these pages are dedicated to my recreation of these costumes. I haven't finished them all, so this will be a work in progress. But so far, I've had a lot of fun, and am planning on having even more in the next several months. Oh, yeah. Queen Amidala, Padme', Star Wars, etc., etc. are all copy protected names and ideas, and all rights are owned by the Lucas folks. I don't intend to make any profit off this endeavor, I don't intend to violate any laws or rules. I'm just making doll clothes for my own enjoyment and having a good time. Last updated: November 26, 2000 OUR FIRST AWARD!!!
