Molly Anders remembers the Christmases of her past, baking cookies and decorating a tree. More than anything, she’d love to have a holiday like that with Sarah, the five-year-old daughter of Greg Wilcox. A wealthy man, Greg had pretty much retired from life, but wanting Molly has encouraged him to take a job in a struggling computer software company, to make himself useful in her eyes. This keeps him too busy to take care of his daughter when she gets a cold and his mother can’t baby-sit, so he asks Molly to stay at his house and care for Sarah.

Unfortunately it comes out that Greg has been deceiving Molly about a few things, like how he’s behind the sudden interest in her artwork and now she won’t let him close to her.

Is the promise of an old-fashioned Christmas enough to keep Molly around and make her forgive him?
